The Tudors - especially monarchs like Henry VIII and Elizabeth I - owned a variety of gemstones sourced through trade with the Ottoman empire, India, and beyond. Spinel was one of these imports.

I have made this gold plated ring with a 5mm black spinel gemstone in 4 available sizes.
