This belt is a full long length Tudor style girdle belt for historical reenactment. It is my replica of the belt worn by Katherine Parr in the Jersey portrait.
The portrait known as “The Jersey Portrait,” was once thought to depict Lady Jane Grey. Through thorough research however, the conclusion is that this is a portrait of Queen Katherine Parr.
The belt is made with multi layer antique golden findings, with pearls in the Tudor strung 5 piece style. There are Tudor ouches and a central cross pendant all made by hand. I have cast golden urn pendants and I hand paint each one with black enamel and varnish. The ouches and pearls are securely connected with a strong quality 49 strand thick beading wire.
The belt is fully adjustable to fit with a sturdy extension chain to the back and waist.
I also make the brooch and necklace set from this portrait.
The belt is photographed on a Tudor gown to show you the full effect. The purchase price is for the belt only.
The belt will come wrapped in our rose tissue paper and a pretty organza gift bag.
