Elizabeth 1st replica necklace - The Rainbow Portrait

This is my replica of the necklace worn by Elizabeth 1st in The Rainbow Portrait on display at Hatfield House.

The Rainbow Portrait - 'Perhaps the most colourful Tudor portrait, full of inventive iconography.'
Elizabeth holds a rainbow with the inscription “Non sine sole iris”, “No rainbow without the sun”, reminding viewers only the Queen’s wisdom can ensure peace and prosperity.

For this piece I have made a large brass pendant adorned with black glass crystal in golden claw settings. There is a filigree brass centre with a large siam red crystal square. There are two red crystal drops and a glass pearl drop. 

This regal piece fit for a Queen comes in my presentation box.
