War Of the Roses Richard III Medieval Style Hand Crafted Necklace
This is a large antique bronze medieval style necklace with Richard III glass portrait and crown.
I have encased the image of Richard III in a 30 x 40 mm glass dome within an antique bronze setting. Above the pendant hangs a large crown. Either side of the crown I have set the coat of arms for House Plantagenet and Richard III's coat of arms with the white boar. These are set in rhombus style 14 mm glass.
The rivalry between the House of Plantagenet's two cadet branches of York and Lancaster brought about the Wars of the Roses, a decades-long fight for the English succession, culminating in the Battle of Bosworth Field in 1485, when the reign of the Plantagenets and the English Middle Ages both met their end with the death of King Richard III.
Above the crown I have set two coral roses, the Red Rose of Lancaster and the White Rose of York
Set on antique bronze chain.
The necklace measures 18 inches to the top of the rhombus settings, and the total length sits around the collar to approximately 24 inches.
